My parents may be cited as my earliest musical influence as I come from a very musical family
As members of a local orchestra my parents were rehearsing daily and as a boy I often fell
asleep on the hypnotic tapping of their feet while holding rhythm. After trying out various instruments the musical penny
finally dropped on age twenty one when I was invited by classmates to come and jam along with their band. From that moment
on I fell in love with the bassguitar
After many hours figuring out bassparts on my own and rehearsing the (cover) music of my first bands I slowly but
surely developed the knowledge and necessary skills needed to developed as a solid bass player
Over the years
I've played in various bands and projects. Below is a sampling of my musical history:
Several cover bands
from 1991 to 1996 in the pop / rock genre
was a band in the progressive rock genre. Ultimately we released the CD "Dreams, Letters & Insecurity" as well as a number of demos in 1998.
started out as a band in which we wrote our own songs in the pop / rock genre with the EP "Brave" as a result in 2000.
was a singer / songwriter duo which won the audience appreciation price of the finals of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in 2000.
A Tribute to Alan Parsons
was a project with the "Honselse Harmony Orchestra", a live album was recorded in 2003.
was a band in the singer / songwriter genre in which I played the fretless bass exclusively.
The songs were recorded between 2000 and 2005, resulting in several EPs and winning the "Westerpop award" in 2004.
was a Led Zeppelin tribute band which unfortunately existed shortly. The gigs we did however were awesome
was a progressive metalband with their own repertoire in which I've played in from 2005 to 2010
is an acoustic coverband which plays the latest hits. The band was founded in 2014 and I am still playing in it
Monterey Pop Experience
is a 60's & '70s coverband which I co-founded in 2014. The band plays regularly throughout the country and
its key feature is the five-part vocals as well as an authentic 60's & 70's sound and vibe
Hot Blue Tones
is a blues coverband I joined in the winter of 2015. The band consists of very experienced players and the bluesvibe is the real deal
In daily life
I own music school Place4Bass where I teach students how to play this wonderful instrument and enjoy music.
Beside PBII I play in 3 commercial cover bands, Dann Hill, Monterey Pop Experience and Hot Blue Tones. I am married to my lovely wife and
I am a very proud father of two beautiful daughters
Besides making music I like to watch movies in the action and sci-fi / horror genre
